I met Li+Greg for the first time on the day of the traditional wedding. They had gotten married in Luxembourg in 2014 and this was the final leg that would bring full-circle a global celebration. Since they live in Luxembourg, Li’s family took over the reigns and planned the whole wedding, headed by Mam’ Zodwa who is a born planner. In African tradition you do not marry one person, you marry the family and this was the welcoming party for Greg and his family who I’m certain felt right at home.
On my way to Nootgedacht my 6th sense told me I wouldn’t be meeting two people; I would be meeting three. I was right! Baby Schnuer, whose nickname I won’t share for fear that it may stick, was baking nicely in the oven. If her parents-to-be are any indication, she will be a sweetheart of note!
A heartfelt thanks to the Matsau family for the privilege of capturing this day. To Li+Greg, may your union be blessed always!
